daily play – playing in negative

Hey everyone! Wow, the week has gotten away from me. Somehow it didn’t even register that today was Thursday until I sat down and realized I hadn’t posted a way to play this week. Better late than never, right? So here it is.

As people we generally have an agreed upon idea of relative aesthetic. In other words, if I was to ask you to paint a happy picture, most of you would use similar bright colors. Or if I was to ask you to play a song with energy, there is a tendency to speed up or play louder. So today, I’d like you to play in negative. No, I don’t mean be nasty or pessimistic. I mean, like a photo negative reverses the contrasting colors, reverse the usual aesthetic in some aspect of your life. If it’s music, play a very energetic piece slowly or very quietly. Or paint a happy picture with grays, blacks and browns. What will you come up with? I certainly hope you’ll share!

As always, have fun!

About Kirk

I enjoy life and have been blessed with many different experiences. An eye for the underlying truths that surround me accompanies a growing faith in Christ and God that informs my world and reveals small miracles and beauty surrounding me every day. This is the major reason I felt led to start Dance of 2 Companies - a dance studio where I can share all the little amazing things God's taught me through life as a dancer - about myself, about others, about marriage... and most importantly, about Him.
