daily play: doppelganger

Greetings on this fine and dandy Tuesday! I hope it finds you in the midst of a wonderful day.

You know, it’s always fun to watch someone who’s good at what we do. At times watching them leaves us with a hint of jealousy. “If only I could move like her,” we might say or, “if only I could play like him.” There is something captivating about their style and it draws us in. We’d do well to know right now that we will never be him or her, but it never hurts to try. So, today’s challenge is to take a look at someone in your field that you admire and attempt to emulate them. Not to become them, but to grow as you. You can never be anyone other than yourself and that’s the most exciting part of it. As you begin to explore their style and skill, there is a really good chance you’ll find yourself making it your own in a way that is completely unique to you. So go ahead, play at being their doppelganger and see what develops on the other side.

Have fun!!!

About Kirk

I enjoy life and have been blessed with many different experiences. An eye for the underlying truths that surround me accompanies a growing faith in Christ and God that informs my world and reveals small miracles and beauty surrounding me every day. This is the major reason I felt led to start Dance of 2 Companies - a dance studio where I can share all the little amazing things God's taught me through life as a dancer - about myself, about others, about marriage... and most importantly, about Him.
